ADVENTURE BREWING CO Let every day be an adventure!

Super Power Pale Ale

A nice crossover into craft beer. Light in color but not light in flavor. Two or three pints may reveal your inner super hero. How will you save the day?

Expedition IPA

An interesting update to plain old IPAs, Expedition IPA calls forth a blend of citrus and white wine hop flavors that temper a clean lightly malted grain background. Certain to satisfy the long time IPA lover, this beer avoids the hop punch associated with many IPAs

Backpack Wheat

This refreshingly smooth wheat quenches your thirst at the end of a hard day of work. A traditional german styled wheat, no slice of orange is needed.

Stiletto Stout

Some adventures are a little on the darker side. A rich, malty, and smooth stout. Stiletto Stout has a full flavor and light roasted overtones making it a brewery favorite.

Adventure Brewing Company was born from the enthusiasm and support of the local homebrewing and craft beer community and hopes to inspire others to brew their own craft beer.

Our vision

As a micro-brewery, Adventure Brewing Company is primarily focused on bringing full flavored beers to the local area. Initial plans are to produce around 1,000 barrels (about 30,000 gallons) per year. Adventure Brewing's initial lineup of beers include four year round styles and a number of seasonal or special batches. The year round styles include an IPA, a Pale Ale, a Wheat and a Stout. Specialty and seasonal batches such as Double IPA, Pumpkin Beer, Smoked Ale, Christmas lager and others will, of course, invite more adventurous tastes. We serve samples and full beers in the tasting room as well as fill growlers (64 oz bottles) to take home. We are also working with distributors to ensure our beer is available at many local restaurants.

Our experience

Owners Tim Bornholtz, John Viarella and Stan Johnson learned to brew beer in the 1990s but it wasn't until 2010 that their hobby brought them together and they began to brew as a team. At about the same time they formed the Stafford Brewers Club, a local organization dedicated to the creation and sharing of home brewed craft beer.

a long time software developer, consultant and private business owner describes himself as an "Hop Fanatic". While his business and IT experience lend significant value to the company, his experimentation with all manner of hop varieties help define Adventure Brewing Company's versions of the craft beer industries most popular beer style, the IPA.

Tim Bornholtz

results oriented approach to business, culled from many years in HR management, challenges the company to consistently grow in sales, capacity, quality and service. His strong focus on full bodied beer styles, along with a driving goal for his Holy Grail of beers "The Bacon Beer" are sure to be of interest to adventurous beer tasters.

John Viarella

has a business operations focus that will work well in the development of systems, processes, monitoring and quality controls. These are, as you can imagine, imperative to any manufacturing environment. The goals of consistency, repeatability and stability are inherent to his approach but don't let that fool you. Stan has a passion for creativity which is expressed both through his music and his collaboration with the team to develop new and exciting brew recipes.

"Fill with mingled cream and amber, I will drain that glass again. Such hilarious visions clamber Through the chambers of my brain. Quantist thoughts – queerest fancies, Come to life and fade away: What care I how time advances? I am drinking ale today."
